Car Interior Cleaning with Ozone

It is believed that the main odor sources in cars are cigarette smoke and pets, but there are also other, less visible culprits. Many things can happen in a car... We tend to brush this off and not pay much attention to it, whether it's a drink bottle accidentally knocked over by our dear child, milk spilled on the car floor after a grocery trip, or wet snow carried into the car by feet during winter. It is only when we sit in the car one morning that we realize something probably smells bad.

How to get rid of the created odor?

Usually, many of us deal with unpleasant odors in our cars like this:

The result is a cleaner appearance, but still, the unpleasant smell in the car interior remains.

Bacteria have started to live

If an unpleasant odor lingers in the car even after thorough cleaning, it is likely because bacteria have found their way into the deeper carpet, seats, or upholstery. The damp carpet under the floor mat and dirt carried into the car from the street provide a good breeding ground for bacteria, and a subtle mold mycelium starts evolving there quietly.

The best way to combat bacteria, mold, fungi, and odor sources in the car is with ozone cabin care.

Ozonation is the safest and most environmentally friendly disinfection process for human health, using modern technology, which does not leave an unpleasant smell in the air or damage surfaces upon contact. Ozone oxidizes harmful microorganisms at the atomic level, rendering them harmless and preventing their reproduction.

Ozone for destroying viruses and bacteria

According to studies on coronaviruses, viruses can survive on surfaces for up to 72 hours. On porous materials like paper and cardboard, up to 24 hours. However, under favorable conditions, with moisture and temperatures between 6–8°C, the virus can survive for up to 9 days.

Ozone has strong disinfecting properties. Studies have shown that coronaviruses are destroyed upon contact with ozone within just 30 seconds. Viruses consist of nucleic acids and protein particles. Ozone attacks the nucleus of the nucleic acid, thereby damaging the virus's RNA, resulting in its destruction. It has been established that ozone is several times more effective in killing bacteria than, for example, chlorine.

A high-voltage ozone generator is used to generate ozone. Ozone destroys viruses, bacteria, and mold spores present in the car interior, regardless of whether they are in the air or attached to the carpet, seats, ceiling upholstery, and other parts. Living bacteria and mold spores also contribute to unpleasant odors. After exposure to ozone, they die off, and any possible unpleasant smell decreases or disappears.

Simply put about the ozonation process

A fan draws the air from the car interior into the ozonator, where it is first directed over an ultraviolet lamp. The air is disinfected and ionized. During this process, a negatively charged environment enriched with ozone is created in the closed car cabin.

Positive ions, which previously allowed pollutants (microbes, bacteria, viruses, mold, etc.) to fly freely in the car interior, are captured by negatively charged air ions and neutralized or broken down. The “bad” air particles trapped in the car cabin then move back to the fan, where they meet a positively charged catalyst plate. Over 12,000V will also destroy the most persistent bacteria electrochemically. Unlike disinfectants in solid or liquid form, ozone and negatively charged air ions can penetrate everywhere, even into smaller cavities and the interior of materials.

Jazz Pesulad recommends cabin ozonation only for previously cleaned car interiors.

Why is Jazz Pesulad's cabin ozonation service special?

In many cases, the cabin ozonation service is provided with equipment that is not specifically designed for this purpose or that the devices are too weak. This means that too little ozone is produced during the work process, and the service time remains too short to completely eliminate health-hazardous bacteria and fungi.

Jazz Pesulad uses only modern and specifically designed equipment to provide this service, ensuring the best results every time.

In extreme cases, the cabin ozonation process may need to be extended or repeated a few weeks later for maximum results.
